Aadhar cards are now becoming one of the most widely accepted government IDs. So it becomes imperative to keep it updated with your latest information. The mobile no. you provide in your application form is saved in the Aadhar database and is used as a verification medium, to make any changes or corrections in your Aadhar card. So basically if you have a valid and working mobile number, registered with Aadhar card – you can save a lot of time while updating the same. However you might need to update Aadhar without mobile number in either of these 2 cases:
- You no longer use the mobile no. that you have mentioned in your registration form – due to either loss or you use a new mobile number.
- You have not provided a mobile number at the time of registration.

Update Aadhar Without Mobile Number – The Offline Method:
Opt for the offline method if you have not provided a mobile number at the time of registration or do not have access to your registered mobile number.
If you have access to your old mobile number it’s advisable to go for the online method as its less time consuming.
Step 1 – Fill the Aadhar Update Data Form:
Click here to visit the UIDAI portal to get the Aadhar Card Update request form.
Step 2 – Download the form:
As you can see in the above image, you have the option to ‘Send Update Request By Post’.
Click on Download form. The form is in PDF format and looks like this
Step 3 – Fill out the Update Data Request form:
Take a print out of the form and fill in your details correctly using capital letters only. Ensure that the details you have provided are accurate.
Step 4 – Enclose your Documents:
Once your form is filled, you will need to enclose self attested copies of the documents as suitable for the information you wish to get updated. The list of valid documents can be found on the second page of the Form PDF that you have downloaded.
Or simply refer here to find the list of valid Aadhar Card Documents. Make sure to write your 12 digit Aadhar no. on each of the documents that you enclose with your form.
Step 5 – Post your Aadhar Data Update Request Form and Documents OR Visit the nearest centre:
Put the correctly filled form along with the self attested documents in an envelope and seal it properly. Write Aadhar Correction / Update in clear legible handwriting.
