Background of the Bhamashah Card Scheme
The Government of Rajasthan has believed that to construct a enhanced society, empowerment of every woman is very important because empowerment of the woman is empowerment of the society and thus the State. The scheme was envisioned by Rajasthan government in the year 2008 with this desire. That was even before the Aadhaar programme was notion-ed of.
Bhamashah Card Scheme was launched in 2008. It’s objectives are of financial inclusion and to empower the women of the State. Around 50 lakh ladies were enrolled and 29 lakh accounts were opened in this phase.
What is Bhamashah Card?
With its ‘Ultra Smart’ features, the Bhamashah Scheme provides multi-dimensional benefits to the cardholder. It acts like an Identity proof for the card holder. The card truly empowers the cardholder. It ensures that the holder benefits from every scheme run by the government. The card is the ideal blend of ‘e’ and ‘Governance’ ensuring the foreseen eGovernance.
It ensures that only the authentic Bhamashah Card holder families get the benefits of material/amount. There are no odds of misuse of the card when lost or stolen as no one other than the card holder is verified through biometrics to use it.

How to get Bhamashah Card?
The Bhamashah enrolment can work both in offline as well as in online mode. State Government has smoothed the progress of enrolment near the door steps of the residents. Now more and more residents are enrolled under the scheme.
- For offline enrolment: Camps are organized in each Gram Panchayat in rural area and in each ward in urban area.
- For online enrolment: A variety of Points-of-Services can be used by the resident. Any resident of the State can also apply online for Bhamashah enrolment through the Bhamashah Portal.
Bhamashah Card for People with Aadhar Card
People who have an Aadhar card already can easily register for Bhamashah Card. Their Aadhar details with the state will be used as it is in the Bhamashah Scheme.

Bhamashah Card for People without Aadhar Card
For people who do not have an Aadhar Card, firstly, the eKiosks similar to ones used to make an Aadhar Card will ensure the biometric verification is carried out. The data is then fed into Bhamashah Scheme data bank.
